Disabling everything session related in manager

    Hi guys,
    I have varnish cache on my server and even though the revo manager directory is excluded from varnish caching something causes the manager to auto logout or hang on saving after undefined periods and when switching between resources. I suspect it's session related in the manager. Some varnish cache vs modx cache issue maybe? Any idea what I old disable in the manager to prevent the session issues. I also get the attached screen prematurely.

      Try clearing the value in the session_handler_class System Setting. This will cause MODx to use the default PHP file-based session manager.

        Hi I tried that but issue persists. It renders the manager unusable with the constant auto logging out and session expiration. Clearing the value also deactivates "Flush All Sessions" functionality. I suspect some value in the attached needs changing. Clearing out the 604800 value buys me a bit more time it appears. As an aside how does the modx cache stack up against varnish for high traffic websites like 1000 people on at a time with 150,000 page views daily. Image and text based website mainly. It would be great to have the Modx Revo Manager working flawlessly with Varnish Cache installed

          Hmmm forcing www with htaccess seems to have helped with the original session settings

          RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.site\.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.site.com/$1 [R=301,L]


          for about a minute and issue is back. Modx Revo keeps asking me to log back in. I noticed the same as this thread https://forums.modx.com/index.php/topic,58251.msg365647.html ...that if I click Remember Me when logging into manager things work much better. For public computers where I dont want to use Remember me I get kicked out every 10 seconds or so due maybe to varnish cache running even though the manager directory has been excluded from varnish caching.

          All these server requirements satisfied too:

          5.1.2 and above (excluding 5.1.6 and 5.2.0)
          Required extensions:
          zlib
          JSON (or PECL library)
          mod_rewrite (for friendly URLs/.htaccess)
          GD lib (required for captcha and file browser)
          PDO, specifically pdo_mysql (for xPDO)
          ImageMagick (for thumbnails)
          SimpleXML
          cURL (for Package Management)
          safe_mode off
          register_globals off
          magic_quotes_gpc off
          PHP memory_limit 24MB or more, depending on your server
