How do I filter the getResources output by date (like "today" or "this week")?

I've got a site I'm building on MODX Revo 2.2.7 using the newest version of getResources. I'm attempting to filter the results by date parameters. For example, I'm going to be pulling Resources from a container that may have several hundred articles and I need to get the Resources or today or this week:
```
[[getResources? &parents=`55` &tpl=`story_template` &includeContent=`1`]]
```
I'll be looking at the date that will be defined in the publish_date setting.
