Image/File TV input types unselectable

Chalk this up to a two-beer Friday user experience suggestion. We have a development instance where the image/file TV's have become unselectable. In order to choose an image, you must click the tiny little arrows all the way to the right of the template variable box. On this site, the box is so long the only way to get to it is to shrink the page or increase your screen resolution to over 3000px wide. I troubleshooted this down to the AutoTag TV type but my question is why put the select arrows all the way to the right? And why not let someone initiate an image/file selection by clicking on the entire box? I always must explain to my clients how to get to it by saying "see those two itty-bitty arrows over there, you have to click on them." They end up forgetting that requirement and calling me again in a month.

Last image TV I created produced a totally unselectable box until I enlarged the browser to full screen to find the arrows. No normal user on a 11" screen would have been able to see it. GRRR!

Yes, this is a known problem with 2.2.7. There is a fix here http://tracker.modx.com/issues/9877.

In Revo 2.2.6 the image TV fields were fine. Is there any way to make them fine in 2.2.7?

Just to repeat the fix:

1. Go to: /manager/templates/default/element/tv/renders/input/

2. Download:
- file.tpl
- image.tpl

3. On both files are two width specifications (currently in percentages - 99% or 100%). Change these to '400' [ed. note: cottagestuff last edited this post 13 years, 3 months ago.]
