    Hi all,
I have installed eLetters and it appears to be working but I've got a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me resolve.

    1. We have several sites hosted. We have created a group in eLetters for each site. When the users enters their email on SiteA, I want them to be added to GroupA. I cant seem to find a way to hard code this. As of now they do not belong to any group.

    2. The footer of our site is simple www.iTractForACT.com is the site if you want to look. Ideally, I would like to get the prospects FirstName, LastName etc. but that wont work in the footer.. Is there a way we could allow or ask the user to supply this info on email confirmation or on the redirect page? I dont see a way to do this now.

    3. The email verification email body has a placeholder [[+confirmUrl]] in it. I find that this is url in the final email is missing the / between the domain and the page. Not sure where i can fix this.

Thanks for any help or direction.

      Hi all,

Groups are "user groups" in MODX. You'll need to look into permissions for MODX. I suggest checking out

There are others, but start with these for now. It's a little complex, but very comprehensive.

Additionally, since you're using multiple sites, will you only be storing the groups on one site? If your groups/site memberships are going to be storing each subscriber on a unique MODX site, you'll have a bit of a problem emailing them all from one installation as the records will be in each individual site.

You've installed the Login snippet, correct? Gonna need that too.

      2. The footer of our site is simple www.iTractForACT.com is the site if you want to look. Ideally, I would like to get the prospects FirstName, LastName etc. but that wont work in the footer.. You may want to pair this with the subscribe snippet. The documentation will help you code the subscribe form, as well as giving your users opportunity to subscribe to different topics, or even groups.

See subscribe snippet. Personally I would use only the groupEletters package for producing the actual email, and actually emailing the selected groups and topic filters produced by the subscribe snippet. GroupEletters only works when permissions are also working, so get that set up first, and then configure Subscribe and/or GroupEletters in the front end.

Can I automatically add users from my modx user group? I have registered users on my site and want them to automatically send newsletter without need of subscription...

I gave up on eletters, the documentation is lacking, and I tried to reach out to the developer and I got a reply but nothing that was helpful.
As of now, I am using formit, and then saving the data to a custom sql table. Then my crm software imports it and then it starts sending the users emails etc..

          good luck to you.

Another option that I use regularly is to use Notify (with Subscribe) to send a link to the page rather than sending the whole page itself to the user. As a bonus, you get more traffic on your site.
