How do I make unpublished pages un-viewable on the front end?

Hi all,

I have a problem in that resources that I have marked as unpublished are still viewable on the front end of the website. What do I need to do to have a 404 returned (or get people redirected to another page) if someone tries to view one?

That shouldn't happen, are you testing them while you are logged into the manager ?
