    Hi fellas,

I was wondering if anyone could point me to any documentation on how to develop my own provider server. I have looked through the forum, documentation, and google but am unable to find anything helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

      Hi,

It seems a very general and broad question.

      1. Design a site
      2. Add to MODX as a template
      3. Create your own tables and snippets (functionality up to you)
      4. Test and debug

Does that help? It probably doesn't so can you add any more specific details?

      Best wishes,

      Paul.

        Hi Paul,

Thanks for your response, and sorry for being so vague.

To reword it, I have created a set of custom packages that I currently need to upload to the '/core/packages' directory every time I update them. I would prefer to instead create my own custom provider instead of uploading the packages by hand every time.

In order to achieve this I would need to have documentation on how to create the server side of the provider (the REST part).

        Thanks for your response,
        Gary

          Ah, can't help, sorry.

Am planning to look into these features in more detail but am on my first MODX implementation. I am looking forward to trying out http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Using+runProcessor to create my own applications.

I must admit that I had assumed the package management would allow for local installs of our own packages. Again not in a position to look into it at the moment.

BTW, the globalbite website is beautiful! I was very impressed with it.

          Best wishes,

          Paul
