Help me figure out if this is a bug with MODX or Ace

    I always create custom user settings for my admin account on any MODX install (you can see what I mean here), I do this because I don't want to use TinyMCE as my editor since I want to be able to code raw HTML using Ace (which I love).

    The problem is when I do this now MODX disables TinyMCE but doesn't enable Ace for this account so I installed CodeMirror and tried the same thing and it doesn't work either so I want to make sure others can replicate this before I submit it as a bug.

      Ace is only enabled if richtext is disabled in the resource, or the use_editor setting is false IIRC.

        I had use_editor set to No and which_editor to Ace and it wasn't working weird, changed it a few times from Yes/No and it started working weird.

        I will try it on some other sites and see if it gives me the same issues.

        UPDATE: Definitely set use_editor to no and it works as intended, thanks Mr. Hamstra

          Definitely also remember to set the field type to YES/NO for the use_editor setting - don't just set it as 'text' :p
          Once you do that, go Security > Flush all sessions
          Then its all good smiley

          Sweet tip!

          Customising the name and description for the setting does not work for me (v2.2.7)
          Whatever I enter in those fields is just replaced with the default.
          Anybody else?
