FULL DISCLOSURE: I've seen this idea tossed around somewhere in the forums, but I can't remember where. So I thought I should revive it.
The current feature request system could use some improvements. It's great for bug tracking, but it lacks in user-friendliness and community engagement. It's a very useful tool to have, but a lot of people don't use it in its current state. What a waste!
Please let's change it!
For MODX 3, I propose an
intuitive, interactive, community-centered and less technical system. One that would make it
fun to suggest new ideas and
poll-test those ideas to see
what's really hot. This great imaginary system will only work if it's
well promoted - not buried in a creative graveyard. Why not make it a
first-class citizen and promote its latest posts up there in the top right hand corner next to the big boys? And while we're at it, why not announce its imminent epic release date (if it's released) via one of those Jay Gilmore's fancy blog posts?
Less talk, let's show you what I mean:
Cpanel, Pinterest, Zendesk, WHMCS and others have something close to what I have in mind.
Here's the one from WHMCS:
