I had an old version of the Article addon (version 1.4.7 I think). I started trying to create a blog today and noticed that there was a new version 1.6.5-pl so I hit upgrade in the Package manager.

Now the blog is broken and I cannot access it in the Modx manager to add or edit any blog entries! When I click on the Articles / Blog container, it shows blank where the Articles settings normally should be. The Modx resource tree shows up ok.

I then try to remove the addon completely and download (using the package manager) and install it again. Still same result (i.e blog is now broken).

I can't seem to find anyway to get a copy of the old working version sad

Forgot to mention I'm running the current version of modx (MODX Revolution 2.2.7-pl (traditional)).

    Please help?

This is likely caused by an incompatible version of MODX. Articles 1.5+ requires Revolution 2.2.1-pl to run. If you have an older version of MODX you should upgrade it to the latest. I would advise you to go with an incremental upgrade.

I you don't want a MODX upgrade, then completely uninstall Articles, then manually clear your core/cache folder, clear your browser's cache and reinstall the previous version of Articles -- 1.4.7 you said.

Last but not least, you should backup your database before embarking on this frightening journey. It could save you lots of pain.

@ thank you for your reply. I just updated my original post to mention that I'm running the current version of modx MODX Revolution 2.2.7-pl.

I'll try the the emptying the core/cache directory suggestion.

I clear the modx core/cache and the the browser cache seems to have made it work. However install error is still there!

This looks more like a warning to me than an error. It seems the system is telling you that you already have the proper settings on the database for Articles-1.6.5-pl and you really don't need any upgrades. If it's working, I wouldn't worry much.
