I was using internet explorer and logged in to my modx to insert a new link. The CKeditor wasn't working at all so I tried using the tinyMCE. It seemed easy enough to add a new link but when I saved it deleted all of the links on that page and deformatted my page into one big blob of text. Is there anyway to go back to the version of my page before I tried to add the new link? How can I recover the links it deleted. Am I just screwed?

I started rebuilding the page and got some new links in. The CKeditor is working when I open it up in Firefox so I'm using that. The page I had an issue with is http://moorehomeinspection.com/linksresources.html. I got it reformatted for the most part and go some of the links back in the on top but I'd have to go in and set them up for every other section. The big blob of text in the 2nd to last paragraph is how the whole page was when the error occurred. There is over 50 links there that just got deleted and I don't know how to get them back. Any help would be much appreciated. I think we're using the older modx evo. I'm afraid to upgrade and not sure if I needed to. If modx can't even handle adding in a link how would it deal with an entire upgrade.

I recently took over the web dev. duties and this is my first time using modx. Are there any other errors like this that are common knowledge to most of the community at this point that I should look to avoid. I know not to use IE anymore.

TinyMCE is a Javascript add-on to the core MODx. It can cause problems, but in itself it has nothing to do with MODx.

As far as your page full of links, unless you have a backup of the site, it's gone. I found this Google cache which might be helpful. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:yQXU4r58TBQJ:moorehomeinspection.com/linksresources.html+moorehomeinspection+links&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=il

That is extremely helpful! Thank you.

How did you find that link? It's something google saved automatically?
        • If you do a Google search for something, there will be a little arrow to the right of most links. That will offer the option of viewing the Google cache of the page. I did a search for the URL you posted above, and the second result was to the linksresources page.
