I have followed the tutorial on using resource-specific mediasource and multifile-uploader so that users can upload files to be displayed on any one page (
http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/MIGX.Use+resource-specific+mediasource+and+multifile-uploader). However, the uploader only allows image file types. How do I expand this to allow all (or near all) file types?
Also, is this tutorial still the best way to go about this? I ask because I see the "Auto Resource Folders" option in MIGX TV type input options. Is this tutorial out of date and should I just use that option, a "file" type tv and a standard Media Source? I'm not sure the difference between the methods. Thanks!

Did you add your intended file types to the new media source? By default, media sources are set for image files only. Right click the media source, update, then modify the allowed file types setting to include the file extensions you wish your users to be able to see/use.

Thank you, that answered my first question. However, does anyone know about that TV option "Auto Resource Folders?" I'm curious to know more about it and it's not in the documentation.

This is a relic from times before mediasources.

Auto Resource Folders is an input type in the dropdown for a migx TV? Got a screenshot? I'm not seeing that anywhere.
Does anyone know how to auto load from media source when create the resources by xpdo?!
Or, how to load from media source by Modx Api?
