    Hello guys,

I just finished creating a website in my local machine. I applied new templates and did various changes in general. I have also added a link located in a sidebar, pointing to the "Add Blog Entry" document. This link points to the same document that comes with the default installation (http://localhost/index.php?id=3).

Ok, so I Log In to the site (frontend) with the Web User "siteadmin". Then I click on the sidebar link "Add Blog Entry" and I get a 404 error (the 404 document handler shows).

It’s really strange. I verified that the user siteadmin belongs to the "Site Admins" group, and the code located inside the "Add Blog Entry" document is:

    [!NewsPublisher? &folder=`2` &canpost=`Site Admins` &formtpl=`FormBlog` &footertpl=`Comments` &makefolder=`1` &rtcontent=`tvblogContent` &clearcache=`1`!]

What makes it even more strange, is that it will work perfectly if I open a new tab and login to the manager. Then I go back to the website, login again with siteadmin, and the link works fine. This same behaviour happens when I move the website to the host. Perhaps the problem has something to do with document permissions? or is it something related to NewsPublisher?

Any ideas about this will be greatly appreciated.

    Mc

It sounds like maybe the Site Admins group is a Manager User group rather than a Web User group. It has to be a web user group for people to edit from the front end. Also make sure that you’ve assigned the document to that group.

I’m getting the same error when I use the friendly-url setting. The problem is that the url formed is the document ID and not the alias. Does anyone know how to generate the proper blog url using friendly url option on?
            Thank you.

That usually means that an old version of the page (from before you turned on FURLs) is still cached in the MODx cache or in your browser’s cache.
