I want to be able to create and archive thousands of entries in the same resource container . Is this a solution for handling thousands of posts in the same container? I don't want the manager navigation tree taking forever to load?

Yea, Article can handle it. Search the forum; someone did an extensive experiment...Articles tags and archives might slow things down considerably.
I use Articles to take care of my posts too.

Yup should work just fine. You only really run into problems with trying to get Articles to live within multiple Categories. It doesn't really support that, but neither to regular resources.
Articles also doesn't let you tell it not to clear cache when saving an Article (annoying) but I've submitted a pull request that addresses that.
