The initial setting would be done with the resolver, yes. But to add the new options when somebody uploads a new set or skin would have to be done in a onSiteSettingsRender plugin; unless there is a way to dynamically create that select drop-down natively.

This leads to another question. There are a whole bunch of combo box widgets defined in manager/assets/modext/widgets/core/modx.combo.js

How would I go about defining my own combo widgets? Can I use one of these existing ones? Can I just use the base modx-combo widget?

I think to add a new one, you could just create JS code like one of the existing ones and inject it into the manager page with a plugin, but I'm not sure.

I suspect that all the standard ones are loaded, so there shouldn't be any reason you couldn't use one of them, but I think most (maybe all) of the drop-down list ones hard code where the options are coming from.

Well, for now we'll just use a text field and the user will have to know what sets and skins he has uploaded. But I'm going to keep nagging at this option business until I find out how to do it.

What I really want is a way to do it dynamically, so that the setting options list is built from directories. But just to get it in there in the first place will be a good start.
