I've just re-skinned the Discuss forum for my website on test environment. There happens to be quite a lot of bugs that I hope will be fixed soon,so I hope someone can point me in the right direction, or take care of these things.

    MODX Revo 2.2.6-pl traditional
    Discuss 1.1.1-pl
    PHP 5.4.3
    MySQL 5.5.24
    Apache 2.2.22
    On Windows, with Wampserver
    ____________________________________________________________________________________

    1. CreatedOn:ago displays wrong dates. This is supposedly a bug with strange site locales - which I did not set.
    http://tracker.modx.com/issues/9452
I'll see how it works on production.
However, it's very frustrating to see dates displayed correctly by thread creation and incorrectly for comments - they are 12 hours off and fail to save PM values.

    2. </div><!-- Close Content From Wrapper -->
in many .tpl files you can find this thing, closing some supposedly open <div>. The problem is - it's wrong. If you have anything after the wrapper, you're gonna have that html messed up, as this is redundant.
    ____________________________________________________________________________________
    3. messages-with-form.tpl does not work. You can see it in MODX public forum, try opening a PM thread and click reply to thread, there seems to be unclosed
    `]]
, which just stands like that, but below the form is supposed to be the thread you're replying to. The problem is, again, if you have anything after the wrapper it will break that also.
What happens is that this was supposed to load the whole thread below, but somehow it gets confused with the following code inside thisthreadpost.chunk.tpl

    [[+discuss.user.shouldMarkAnAnswer:eq=`1`:then=`
    				[[+idx:eq=`1`:then=`
                        <div class="dis-info"><p>[[%discuss.mark_answer_instructions]]</p></div>
                    `:else=` `]]
                `:else=` `]]

One solution is to delete that, but then the user that asked a question does not get notified to mark a post as answer, or you can clean up messages-with-form.tpl to not show the thread at all, which I did. Maybe someone more experienced can help with a better solution.

    4. I have followed the basic tutorial for adapting my existing UpdateProfile to Include additional fields for forums. Use Display Name in Forums does not work. Where was this supposed to be shown? It uses firstname or username anyway.
Update:This seems to be shown to other users correctly, in poster name in posts. However, it still shows username in "Active Users" (feature?).

Also, if you're following that tutorial and using CKedit, make sure you don't switch back from source code and save as some things get changed on that translation. This should probably be a chunk or static resource.

    5. Search does not work at all. Always shows 0 results, and with that Displaying 1-0 of 0 Results header which should not be shown if there really were 0 results...
There is anobvious fault here with it as
    [[+results]]
actually returns "No results found." and that is never "empty" as checked in
    [[+results:notempty=

    Search Provider is disSearch.
If anyone got this to work please give me a suggestion as I'd like to have Search functionality.

    6. Ignore boards... ugh. One of the values has to be checked. All others work fine, but only one always returns to checked. Of course, once user accesses for the first time this page, he can no longer access these pages. There seems to be an error in returning the value
    [[+checked]]
I suspect it has to do something with threads having a same name, although I'm not really sure.
I've overcome this by erasing the checked property in disboardcheckbox.chunk.tpl and disboardchunkcategoryib.chunk.tpl , however, user would then have to recheck all the fields once he returns to the form. [ed. note: gr00__ last edited this post 13 years, 5 months ago.]

Those will be much more likely to be fixed if you report each one separately (if it's not reported already) here: http://tracker.modx.com/projects/discuss.

Your Forum Login credentials should work there.

Hi, I have reported the last two as bugs as they are more of show-stoppers, and the other things are more of my notes that I've managed to work around. I also wanted to post here for more people to see and maybe someone has run into the same problems and solved them...

I have one question tho, in docs I have just seen this line:
By default (if the theme uses it, that is) Discuss uses a simple text search engine, but you can enable Solr search by setting discuss.search_class to disSolrSearch and filling out the relevant solr setting.

What does this mean if the theme uses it? I have the theme left at default, but where is this set? This may seem to be the problem with my point #5 as the search seems to be conducted, but on empty data set...

Update: there seem to be no results only if board is left at (All Boards). Anyone seen anything similar? [ed. note: gr00__ last edited this post 13 years, 5 months ago.]

May be the developer will only fix this problem.

I'm pretty certain it's on the side of the search engine. Try doing a filter with one thread category, does it give results? It does on mine. I did troubleshooting through PHP files, and the search engine seems to get the correct values in form (ThreadNum1 OR ThreadNum2 OR .....)
However, it seems unable to get the results back in this case, which is annoying.

Yes, it was working when i tried to use the filtering in advance searching.

Discuss Search must be running normally without any filtering.
