Redirect not working unless I'm logged into Manager

    I am using MODX Revolution 2.2.4-pl (traditional).

    I am trying to redirect to an external site, and using either $modx->sendRedirect($url) or header('Location:' . $url) results in the same problem. If I am logged into Manager at the time, the redirect works fine; when not, it just spits me back to the homepage, which as I understand is the default page-not-found location.

    I imagine it has something to do with permissions, but I don't know how to address the issue. Any ideas?
