I hope that the following helps anyone who is having endless saving issues whilst using Chrome.
This seems to be a problem specific to Chrome and making changes to a Template Variable within a Resource. I was not getting endless saving issues if I did a change to a Element and save it within Chrome. The issue did not seem to occur within other browsers on the mac.
I am using MODX Revolution 2.2.6-pl (advanced). and Chrome Version 26.0.1410.65.
The fix I found was to edit my Apache /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file and remove:
<filesMatch "\.(php)$">
Header always append X-Frame-Options DENY
</filesMatch>
This code could also potentially be found in the .htaccess file
This code is used to activate the anti-clickjacking X-Frame-Options header.
