Answered Strange behaviour of output conditional

I don't want to show the submenu for a certain resource ID without having to activate "Hide from menu" for each item abd without form customization. Since wayfinder cannot do that by his own (sadly!), I put some logic in the template.
This is what I did:

ID=4? Don't show the wrapper. But it does not work. The children of ID 4 are shown.
But this here works:

If I place the ID somewhere before the conditional (here in the alt-tag), the is-then-else works like a charme.

I'd guess that at the time the conditional is parsed, the id placeholder hasn't been set. Putting it in the alt attribute sets it at some earlier point in the process.

I find it preferable to go to a neighborhood cafe and sip a cup of coffee or tea while watching people and listening to the birds. Then in half an hour or so many things are clarified - especially if somebody has answered my question on the forums during that time

Moron. I just did what you told me and now my nose is broken. And the keyboard, too. But somehow the error is gone, so I better say "Thank you!", right?

I still have a whole in my wall from throwing a mason jar through it :s
