I have a site which has 5 particular pages which share the similar menu, All pages show the top part of the menu which will be the year but then the bottom part of the menu is not shared, I cant quite work out how to do this to make life easier as I add more pages.

First off here is one of the pages I am importing with this menu My Site

Right now I have 2 includes, one does the year so I update that and the change reflects across all pages, then I have an include for the bottom half of the menu so each year a new include is added for the new pages for that year.

I just cant work out the best way to do this with MODx, if I create a new template for these pages I can only include the same menu for the top of all these pages, if I stick a wayfinder call on these pages then every page will have to be edited.

I dont know if there is a way to include a wayfinder call inside a chunk this might be an option if it can be done.

Can anyone give me some pointers on the best way to achieve this.

    Regards

    Ian

ok this is a little note for myself and may help any other newbies like me out. I have found an easy way to do this. until I tried it I was not aware I could call a chunk inside of another chunk.
I have a chunk for the year part of the menu inside the main chunk so updating this will make changes across all the pages for that part of the menu.

Then the bottom part of the menu are physical links, so I now have a chunk for all the 2005 pages and anther one for the 2006 pages etc.

As years get added all I need to do is update the chunk that outputs the years and job done.

Adding a fly out or dropdown menu was also an option but I wanted it to work this way.
