Some website pages fail to load CSS and Images until the resource is re-saved in manager

Just as the title states, some pages on one of my clients website will fail to load style sheet and images displaying instead a raw content page.

The only fix I know of is to re-save the resource in the manager. This is now happening every few hours on certain pages and has become a critical problem that I need to fix ASAP.

Is there a fix?
Is this caused by lack of resources on the server?
Low memory?
Low disk space?
Cache problems?

Sounds like a cache problem. I say that because I am presuming that the links to the css files at least are in the template, so fiddling with the resource shouldn't have anything to do with it. Saving the resource will clear the cache, however.

Do you have the base meta tag in all of your template heads, before any link tags?

Yes I have that exact base meta in just about every page on the site.

Set the resources to be uncached for the moment then until you figured out the problem - if that could help temporarily.

No errors in the log?

good idea, will do. There is one particular page that it seems to happen more than the others that I just set cache off, see if that helps.

Validate your pages here: http://validator.w3.org/. You may have an unclosed tag or some other error in the HTML that's causing intermittent problems.

It's also possible that the server is overloaded.

That's what I'm thinking.. the hosting environment as it isn't being hosted in an ideal environment. We are moving to a new host soon which I hope will solve the problem long term.

So far I have not had the css/image problem come back after turning off caching for that particular page, I will continue to monitor and do some more validation.
