    Hi,

I have discovered Redactor, a WYSIWYG editor very light and which generate clean code : http://imperavi.com/redactor/
Problem : it's not under GPL licence and you have to paid for it.
I'm asking myself to buy it for my customers because none of actual RTE available under MODx (TinyMCE...) satisfy me. There are often heavy and generate always a really sh**ty code.

I read on the Redactor website there is existing an OEM Licence which permit a integration with open-source CMS/software.
Can we imagine the MODX team make the investissement in this kind of third party compoment (if Redactor is brillant enought of course) ?

Else, I'm interested to know how to implement it on the MODX manager... [ed. note: Spheerys last edited this post 13 years, 5 months ago.]

      Hi Spheerys,

I'm not sure about MODX team doing the investment, but as far as i know, nothing prevents individual(s) to buy the OEM license and release it to the community.
In fact, the http://forums.laravel.io/viewtopic.php?id=4636Laravel community did it (but i'm not sure it ended-up in Laravel framework due to licensing).

Anyway, for the record, there is an (old) release in the official provider : Imperavi.

      Cheers

I realize this is an older topic, and I think both of you already know about it so this is more for people finding this thread in the future, but modmore (my business) offers a commercial Redactor for MODX now: https://www.modmore.com/extras/redactor/ It's the latest from Imperavi and we've done a lot of work to make it integrate nicely with media sources and MODX in general.
