Hi
I am completely out of my depth with this. I have followed the tutorial to create member only pages. But the result blocks out all of the site with the exception of the Home page. I have been over and over it and I just can't see where I've gone wrong.
Would appreciate any ideas on this.
Many thanks
I have found the problem - I needed to set the menu index for each page to 0. They all now show up in the navigation bar.
Oh - I haven't solved it after all. I can't set all the menu index numbers to 0 - it seems that anything with a value higher than 0 doesn't show up in the top navigation bar. I can still access these pages through links, but that's hardly the best solution.
Back to asking for any help, please.
So - this is the current situation.
When viewing the site without being logged in - I can only see the Home tab on the top navigation bar.
When I log into an account, I can see all the links on the top navigation bar.
I should be able to see all the links except for the link to the member's area which i created. The issue seems to be linked to the menu index numbers - however, they are all in order now, but the problem still exists.
We really need a lot more before we can help you. There are many different ways to do member pages and several tutorials. We don't don't know what method you're using to hide and to show links to pages in the front end.
That said, it's very unlikely that it has anything to do with the menu index values.
OK - I think I HAVE sloved it this time.
I unticked the 'searchable' box on the page settings of the pages I want only for logged in members, and the top menu bar now shows all the menus.
I will be very surprised if that's the real solution. The searchable field usually wouldn't have anything to do with what shows up in a menu.
