Modx forum issue

Hey all,

I used to keep up with the modx forum using the following link https://forums.modx.com/thread/unread, but that page now just gives me a 504 gateway timeout.

Maybe I'm missing an updated version of this link, but the "### new posts since your last visit" link doesn't show quite as many pages and posts as what I'm used to seeing.

Just wondering if this Unread Threads link is no longer active, or if the 504 gateway timeout is another issue, as I remember the forums once having the timeouts more often in the past.

That's the bookmarked link I use. There do seem to be some server problems, especially when posting.

The reported counts of replies and unread posts have been wrong for some time. I often see no replies listed, but when I click on the link, it will show me a bunch of them. I see the same thing with unread posts.

Sometimes both will be 0 and when I click on them, I see nothing, but if I click on "View Latest Posts" I'll see replies and posts I haven't read.

I also see plenty of gateway timeouts. I notice that some of them happen when I, and another user, are posting to the same thread at about the same time.

Case in point, the '[SIG] Add-ons' section supposedly has 4664 topics but only 51 posts. In fact there are 6 topics.

At least I'm not the only one. So Susan, is the unread thread link I posted above working for you still? Or is everyone getting 504 errors when they try that link now? I hadn't seen any gateway timeouts in quite awhile after the forums were upgraded...

Not working for me either. Probably why I didn't see this thread till now.

New Posts works, but that view isn't threaded. I don't like at all the single post view so I never use that. I miss the quick button to https://forums.modx.com/thread/unread from the old forum.

There's also an issue with merging accounts. I merged two user accounts and it reset my post count to zero rather than adding the two counts together.

It did that to me 3 years ago. I guess I never thought to worry about it after it happened and report it. It's worth noting though, and should be reported. How many posts did you lose?

Jay is aware of the non working unread thread link issue. I like that link best. By far, the most useful way to read the forums.

The unread posts feature is working for me tonight, but I just got a Gateway Timeout -- sigh.
