brake after several migx items

Hi!

I have a portfolio like item gallery.
I'd like to have 4 items from a migx TV in one line, than brake - next 4 Items and so on.

I have the migx TV - everything works great - except I don't know how to make a break after a count of items. Thank you very much!

getImageList provides a placeholder for the item number, [[+idx]], so you could use that along with the modulo and conditional output filters to insert something after every 4 items.

Like this:
[[+idx:mod=`4`:eq=`0`:then=`<hr>`:else=``]]
(inserts a horizontal rule every 4 items)

It would go in your my_item chunk at the bottom.

Sure; glad it works for you!

One other thought. In some cases you could split the items up just with CSS, using the :nth-child/:nth-of-type selectors and maybe :before/:after pseudoelements. For IE8, polyfill with Selectivizr (plus either jQuery 1.9 or higher or NWMatcher).

thanks for the info.

You mean something like this:

[[!getImageList?
    &tvname=`myItems`
    &docid=`[[+id]]`
    &tpl=`my_item`
    &tpl_n4=`<hr>`
  
]]

I tried it like this but it didn't work in the latest official release.

Actually the line should be something like &tpl_n4=`my_item_break` where my_item_break is a chunk, similar to my_item only with <hr> or whatever at the end. It'll get used for every 4th item, and my_item for the others.

You can get the latest MIGX from the GitHub repo and install it manually. I'm not sure why the version in the package manager is a bit old. I didn't know about the &tpl_nN property having been added either.

Anyway, you've got 2–3 different solutions for the problem now
