Manager images (cross ticks/TV images) on development server not loading

Just been bugging me for a while and would like to know the answer.

I have a server that I host clients on, more often than not, I set up the enviroment, and wait until project completion, get them to change there nameservers, re-run setup and everything works great.

However, before this happens the site is at an address similar to this http://12.12.12.12/~clientname

When it is like that above, all rendered images (such as tv images selected from the filesystem and then this.renderImage), don't load.

If I inspect with development tools, it trys to load the images from http://12.12.12.12/assets... as opposed to the correct http://12.12.12.12/~clientname/assets...

Any ideas on what setting I need to change to get this to work? As I said above, everything else works fine, including rendering of those images in say a getResources call!

For TV images, phpThumb doesn't handle paths which reference a particular user's home directory ( ~username/ ) so it isn't creating those thumbnails. I'm not sure about the MIGX crosstick, but it's also path/url related I'm sure.

You could set up a temporary url like dev.somecompany.com and use that for the development site. Having a “real” URL will fix things, as you mentioned. You might also experiment with $modx_assets_path and $modx_assets_url in config.inc.php...
