Ace

I've tried a half dozen times to get Ace http://modx.com/extras/package/ace to work but once installed all of the Manager pages are blank except for the resource tree. When I say ‘blank’ I mean the entire area to the right of the resource tree where all the content and settings would normally appear. The main uppermost menu is still visible. I've tried with v2.2.6 and v2.2.7 and the result is the same. Very frustrating as I want to use it.

I have CodeMirror installed but I always uninstall it before installing Ace and I also use the Trendy Manager theme if that matters. I have several other plugins installed too. The only way to fix the Manager is to manually delete all instances of the Ace package from the core install then reinstall Revo. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Revo 2.2.7

Try getting rid of the Trendy Manager theme because I never had this issue on any version of MODX with Ace.

It seems the problem is only with the local development version running MAMP Pro, when I installed Ace on the remote server it worked without a hitch. I'm curious to know why it falls over locally but I'm glad it works where it matters most. [ed. note: todd.b last edited this post 13 years, 5 months ago.]

todd.b, try to disable compress_js option. Ace scripts are huge, possibly MODX minifier can not compress it.
Can you open browser console (F12, Ctrl+Shift+I, Ctrl+Shift+K etc) and check javascript errors?

This is a mixed bag ... I disabled compress_js as suggested then installed Ace. No longer do I get the blank Manager pages but instead of seeing the Ace editor the fields are plain text. Odd. Again, this only happens locally with MAMP Pro, the remote Ace install is fine.
