Hey guys,
today I stumbled across a somehow annoying behavior of the manager's form customization. First of all here's my setup:
Right now, I'm using 5 different templates that share one form customization set. I didn't assign a template since I want all templates to use these form customizations. This setup is very comfortable because when I have to change something I only have to edit this set and it will be applied to all templates.
Today I added another template which needs a different form customization set. So I added a new one and assigned it to this specific template only. The problem: modx is still using the global/non-assigned set for this template. I can only bypass this issue by deleting the global/non-assigned set and create 5! form customization sets and assign each one to a template. So far so good...but maintenance is now a huge problem. E.g. let's say I need to change the name of a field...I have to change this in 5 different sets (if I use create and update sets I need to change it in 10! sets).
I think it would be much better if an assigned set would overwrite the global/non-assigned set for this template. This way I could stick to my prior setup and maintenance would be much more easier.
Maybe I'm only overlooking something here and there is a much more easier solution, but I wasn't able to find it.
Thanks in advance
