    I've an odd problem with IE where the main wayfinder menu is *sometimes* miss positioned on the page.

    What's odd is that when the index page is first loaded the menu is in the correct position on the page. The same applies to other pages when loaded directly for the first time from a URL in the browser bar.

    The problem occurs when you click to a second page using the menu, where the menu is then displayed a bit lower down the page than before. Occasionally it will revert to it's correct position if you happen to select a 'working' page. However this is intermittent. Closing IE or clearing the cache resets things.

    The site works fine in Chrome & FireFox, but this problem seems to run across a range of IE versions.

    The original HTML template version works correctly in IE.

    Any suggestions on where to start looking given the symptoms ?

    It's almost as if the old page is influencing the new page being loaded ?

    The site is www.3d-alchemy.co.uk

    Thanks in advance.

      I don't think this is wayfinders guilt =), sounds like a css issue to me, maybe because the ul is not clearfixed...add the following to your stylesheet:

      .clearfix:before, .clearfix:after { content: " "; display: table; }
      .clearfix:after { clear: both; }
      .clearfix { *zoom: 1; } /* IE6/7 */

      then give the ul in the outerTpl of wayfinder the class="clearfix"?

      in what versions of IE do you have that problem?

        exside- thanks. I've tried in assorted versions of IE and it seems constant. The version I'm looking at on my machine now is IE 8 but it's an issue in earlier versions too.

              Examine the differences between the two pages by looking in your HTML markup. You'll notice some differences in classes likely and from their it's a matter of adjusting your CSS or if you think necessary the HTML Wayfinder is creating.

                jpdevries, the odd thing about the problem is that both pages work in the first instance, and only display incorrectly when loaded for a second time ? Unfortunately I don't have a page that always works or always fails sad

                  I've tried the clearfix fix without luck. I added the css code to the main css file:

                  .clearfix:before, .clearfix:after { content: " "; display: table; } /* CLEARFIX addition to fix IE issues with dropdown menu */
                  .clearfix:after { clear: both; }
                  .clearfix { *zoom: 1; } /* IE6/7 */
                  }

                  After checking "Bobs Book" it seemed that using this addition to the wayfinder call would apply it to the outerTpl:

                  <div class="menu">[!Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &level=`4` &parentRowTpl=`wfParentRow` &outerClass='clearfix' !]</div>

                  However, there is no change. Checking the code it appears that the css is present. (Style sheet attached)

                  I'm pretty sure that this is a wayfinder related problem, or at least my attempts to implement it on the page. Further checking has shown that the problem only manifests it's self on the 'top' level menu items. When clicked the menu item container gets wider on the page, and then the whole menu is repositioned lower when you click to a new page. The 'drop down' menu choices work fine prior to clicking on one of the top level menu items.

                  This is based on the "ultimate_drop" wayfinder css.

                  Checking the IE versions here, it's IE8. Lets not talk about IE6 !! In IE9 it works all ok.

                  Any help much appreciated.

                    Looks like it's a CSS issue. fingers crossed I'll be able to work through it and the fix.
