captcha wont show

hi everyone!

ive just migrated my modx site from 1 server to another
(which ive already done several times with this and other sites)

but now for some reason the security image of the manager wont show
ive got an input box to enter the security code but theres no image..
so now i cant login

can someone please help me

First of all, you’ll need to go into the database and find the entry in "modx_site_configuration" where you can change the show_captcha from 1 to 0.

As far as why it’s not showing, check the phpinfo() view in Reports -> System Info, and see if it indicates the presence of the GD library.

Also try refreshing the page multiple times to see if it actually ends up showing. If so it is likely related to a bug in the captcha code that I found and posted on these forums awhile ago.

ive experienced the refresh bug 2 - tried it, but does not help

i could not find the table site_configuration but i found a system_settings table
and changed the use_captcha field from 1 to 0 (maybe different modx version)

i updated the table and tried it again, yet i still get asked for a captcha code
but theres some good in the bad - when i try to login, it works

now, finally loged in i went to see the php info and could not find a gd library
so in addition i also went and checked the php.ini yet couldnt find anything

oops, sorry... my bad. You’re right, it’s "system_settings". I think that "site_configuration" was from another CMS or something that I used a long time ago, and it still hangs around in my mind for some reason.
