    Hi,

I created a new role and user to let the client edit certain documents. They now want to upload pdfs. I thought the most straightforward way to achieve this would be for the user to create a hyperlink in TinyMCE. Then, through the file browser, upload the required pdf.

This seems to work for the admin, but not the new user. I’ve checked the permissions and can’t seem to find the setting which will turn this on for me.

Does anybody know what I should be doing?

    Cheers in advance
    John

First check that the role for these users has "Use the file manager" ticked in "Configuration management".
If not, that would explain the issue.

Then check in Tools > Configuration > File Manager that Uploadable File Types has pdf. It should be there as default, but if not you should add it.

Keep in mind that the setting for a given user will override the default setting if you have specified one (check in Security > Manager Users, by clicking on a user name and viewing the user tab, "Uploadable File Types". As default, "Use System Configuration Setting" should be ticked...

      Hope it helps smiley
