The site is in a subdomain and I have these line in the FURL section of my site:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /home/mydomain/public_html/mysite/index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA,NC]

I can access pages directly by typing in http://mysite.com/pagename, but only if I use the correct case.

I have friendly aliases turned on,and ".html" as the suffix, and no prefix.

    Shouldn’t any case work?

      BobRay,
I think the path doesn’t need to be the full file path, and the .htaccess file for this particular subdomain should be in the subdomain directory, ie. /home/mydomain/public_html/mysite
Then your .htaccess would look like
      RewriteEngine On
      RewriteBase /
      RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA,NC]

The only reason I can see for this not working is if your environment doesn’t allow .htaccess files at the subdomain level. Then.. er.. um.. huh

I tried making the change and it makes no difference.

        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /home/mydomain/public_html/mysite/index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA,NC]
        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA,NC]

The site works fine with either line but no matter which I use, I can only reach a page directly when I enter the case-correct URL. huh

It’s not a big deal since the menus work as they should but I know there must be something obvious I’m doing wrong to make the NC be ignored.

There’s only one .htaccess file above this one and it has only a single line (addhandler) to make .htm and .html pages get served through the php handler. I need that for some other sites at the domain.

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong, actually. Something changed since the 0.9.6 release that seems to have broken case-independent URLs. I think I remember seeing something about this is another forum post a while back, but I haven’t found a bug report that quite sums it up (maybe you should post a new one).

I have the same version of 0.9.6 running at another host and I can reach the URLs there with any case, although that site is not in a sub-domain. It might be a host problem or a subdomain problem. I guess more people need to check before we blame 0.9.6.
