Url to existing page throws 404 if www. used, fine without www., what!?

Hello,

I have a page that belongs to a document group which belongs to certain user group.

If I access the page with a url like this:

http://www.domain.tld/util/tools/view-routes.html

It returns 404 page not found. If I acces with an url like this:

http://domain.tld/util/tools/view-routes.html

The page works fine. The page actually returns some json code and I get the url via [[~18]] tag which returns with www. so the site is not working at all right now.

I'd need to get it fixed pretty soon, all help is welcome, please suggest something to try if you have any clue!

I rebooted the server and now it seems to work with www. url.

I'm using memcached (per jason's blog post) and I think it has something to do with that. I tried clearing the cache before rebooting but it didn't work. After reboot it seems to be fine.

Quite odd problem.. any thoughts?

Did you rename the ht.access file to .htaccess and uncomment the section of the .htaccess file that forces www (or non-www) URLS?

That will make sure the URL is standardized and you'll be using the same session for all pages.

Also, make sure this is in the head section of all your Templates:

Yes, I did rename it and I had base href tag in the template. Otherwise friendly url paths wouldn't even work.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with memcached.

I might have configured it wrong.. Just setup it quickly and didn't think about it much.. It _may_ be that I have configured the memcache to allocate more memory that are available in the server, perhaps that does weird things. I did clear the cache though multiple times when that error happened.

It's been fine after the server reboot.
