I saw that but as I am using resource containers (as it was suggested in another modx tutorial), I don't want to change that now because Babel finds that the cleaner way too.
It seems the problem is the index page. But I don't see another way to handle that.
I've recently put together a multilingual site, and found this tutorial really useful. Menno is really good, and explains things very clearly.

gateway plugin in github that I use; no need for .htaccess or other rewrite rules. It works very well.
