hi there, i’m having a problem with file size limits.
i need to allow my client to upload files up to 5Mb in size (via FCKeditor and modx File Manager)
i’ve set the Max File Size setting to 5242880 but every time i try to upload a file greater than 3Mb the file manager just hangs and FCKeditor returns "invalid XML response from connector" error.
are there other settings i need to tweak? any help is greatly appreciated!!
    thanks

You might be running into a php.ini limit, and need to increase the setting there.

ok, according to the phpinfo.php the upload_max_filesize is set to 2Mb. is this the culprit?
forgive my php-newbie-naiveness but how can i access the php.ini file to change that? we have a dedicated linux box which has a 3rd party service called plesk running on it to administer domains and sites but i don’t see a way to access the shell and system files to get at php.ini - any ideas?

That is likely the culprit indeed. You’d need to work with your server admins to adjust the settings to suit. You might be able to ssh into your box and use the command ’locate php.ini’, then use a text editor (emacs/vi/nano/...) to edit the setting, and finally restart apache/php to reload the settings.

But first, ask someone that knows what they’re doing as the instructions here might get you in trouble (I’m definitely no server admin)!
