So I was confused when I set a TV default value to @INHERIT and used a dropdown menu as the widget and upon setting a document to a value, the child documents (whom are inheriting the value) do not show the inherited value as selected. Is this true for all input widgets? That they don’t show the parent value in them when editing the document?
Seems to me that this is a missing function that should be implemented.... also when I set the default value ie: @INHERIT ’myvalue’ that value was also not reflected in the input control.
Any thoughts on this?

That is correct. The child documents don’t show the parent value when editing them. After all, the child document does not have a value, it inherits the value of its parent. If it showed a value, then that would be its value, not its parent’s value.
As sottwell said, @INHERIT looks if the TV has not a value then it shows its parent’s, otherwise its own value. It doesn’t "auto-fill" the children doc’s TVs.
From a laymens’ POV this seems a little confusing. Seems like it should show the inherited value somewhere. Especially for instance when the parent document is not accessible to an editor... so they won’t know what the inherited value is.
I do see the point of not auto-filling as that would be incorrect, the value ’is’ inherited, but ’can’ be permanently changed to the current inherited value, where later if the parent value changes the child value would thereafter remain the new selected value.
