    Hi (again)
I’m having a problem with the FCKeditor Resources Browser not populating with thumbnail images although i’m using exactly the same method as i always do. Here’s what i’ve done:

    - Uploaded images to the ’assets/images’ directory on the server (done this before and worked fine - far too many images to upload individually via Resources Browser)
    - Created and assigned an image TV
    - Use the ’Insert’ button for the TV in the page editor
    - Resources Browser is empty

I’ve tried changing the Resource URL from ’assets/’ to ’/assets/images/’ and other variants of this but no joy. Both of these directories are set to 755 and all of the image files are visible in the ’Resources > Manage Files’ area, obviously minus the thumbnails generated by the Resource Browser.
    Any suggestions???

    thanks in advance

do you have files that contain weird characters like ’ or some other not a-z characters?

Hi - thanks for the reply, apologies for the very late response

All files are named normally with no odd characters or spaces at all. A bit of a wierd one this as even the default modx logo.png doesn’t show up. So i started a process of elimination ...
        - Tried uploading into the resource browser but this doesn’t work in either firefox or ie - ie gives the following message: ’Invalid response from XML connector’
        - Tried the resource browser on a different machine to test if firewall settings were causing the prob but get the same result.

Possibly the ’XML connector’ message could point to the problem???
Incidentally, the site is running on a 1and1 server with php 4.4.7 and register_globals ON (i can’t change this).

        Thanks

I’m pretty sure the server path is correct - here’s what it is, obviously including a few X’s for privacy:
            /homepages/XX/XXXXXXXXXX/htdocs/assets/
I’ve tried altering it to this:
            /homepages/XX/XXXXXXXXXX/htdocs/assets/images/
            but no joy

I’ve run a ’server_info.php’ script and the path appears to be correct. I’ve also administered another modx site running on 1and1 server which works fine and used exactly the same image upload route as i tried with this latest site - i’ve done enough cross-referencing to become cross-eyed.

If i try a test to see the install default ’logo.png’ in the assets folder it works fine - ie:
            http://www.abcdefgxyz.co.uk/assets/images/logo.png

Any chance i can PM you on this one so you can check the site for yourself???

            Thanks

I did but did not find the time yet to take a look

why do you not try uploading all files again?
there is no need for a re install if you use the same version.

I tried this with a local installation running on xampp to test and it completely broke.

One last thing, did you check the files CHMOD and ownership ?

I had a similar problem and found out that some files I had uploaded via FTP had the ftp user as owner, and CHOWN it to nobody/nobody solved it for me...
