    Good morning,

    I'm running a local MODX-site (version 2.2.6-pl) with MAMP 2.1.3.

When I try to login, the "username" and "password" fields return blank almost immediately, so I can not login.

Clearing browsers caches, MODX caches, restarting MAMP, restarting the Mac have not solved the problem.

I consider developing the site online because it costs a lot of extra time, but I was wondering how your experience with MAMP is.

    Thanks in advance!

    Joost
    • I've never had a bit of trouble with it, and I install new copies in subdirectories at least once a week. You might want to try installing again.

        Hi Susan,

I've installed a new version of MODX in another subdirectory.

Login for both sites works perfectly again.

Still not clear however what the problem was.

        • It may have been something with your browser cache or cookies for the localhost domain. That can often have odd effects.

To make life easier on myself, I always use the same username and login for my local installations; since I usually have half a dozen or more installation of Evo and Revo (sometimes even various versions) it's a lot easier for me to let my browser store the username/password for the localhost domain.

            Sue,

I tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari with cleared browser settings.

            Same results.

After some further investigation I discovered that the problem is not MAMP related, but only related to this particular site on my localhost.

Other MODX-sites on localhost are working without problems.

Checking the database with phpMyAdmin gave no errors.

                  The problem is still there.

"Fastest" way to login now is to reinstall MODX everytime I want to login.

                  Not an ideal situation however.

                  Any suggestions?
