    HI,
made a Revolution-installation on modx on my new Raspberri Pi. The installation went great.

    But it is SLOW!!!

The manager taker 20-30 seconds to load with the Raspberry processor-indicator is on 100%.
The startpage takes about 5 seconds to load.

I run Debian Wheezy, Apache2, mySQL, MODX Revo 2.2, Samba, vsftpd on a local network.

Anyone else got any experiance with Modx and Raspberry?
Becauce this is useless as it is.

Somehow this reminds me of a Samuel Johnson quote.

Well, I may not quite agree with Mr. Johnson's particular application, but I can certainly see the applicability of the general principle in this case. Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should.

It clearly states in the documentation you need an array of Raspberry Pis, like the picture from RTFM:

In all seriousness, that would be a really interesting experiment.

Ok, so I quickly experimented with Evo and Revo.

Evo manager session has no problem (fast, responsive and usable) on RasPi. Revo is slow on manager session (unusable). As a note, I am not noticing any difference in front end performance once resources are rendered but the pages I am playing with are not that complex. (using nginx + PHP5 + mysql)
I wonder if the situation gets better on Revo if I use another Raspi and serve Db from it, or fine tune php.ini. Since I am more interested in blinking LEDs and driving Servos with my Raspi, that part of the investigation has to wait, However, I have tried another dev board called Beaglebone Black (aka American Pi). The processor is little more powerful than Raspi. Using the same configuration (Debian wheezy+nginx+php5+mysql), Revo's manager page performance on BBB is quite acceptable. I have independent experience with both.

                    Suggestions:
                    - Move MySQL (preferably use MariaDB) on a separate Pi. This will significantly improve performance

                    - Ensure there are no packet drops in your network and you are getting full speed.

                    - Do you really need Modx? As you are using it to monitor devices, simple nginx or Apache HTTPD will do fine. For scripting use PHP.
