Ask the Doctor

Hi everybody,

I've got a Modx site on which I need to make a web-form that will let people ask a question of a doctor.
And I need another page where this doctor will be able to log in (or maybe log into the manager) and see the list of questions and answer them. After the doctor answers the question this question and the answer appear on a page with all questions and answer?

Can anyone help me how can I implement it? What extenstions to use.

You could probably use Quip for this or if you want something more robust Discuss but that might be overkill IMHO.

Thank you, benmarte, for reply. But I think I need something different. I need make people ask and wait until doctor replies on that quastion and only after that show them on the site.

I thought of using FormIt but as I see I'll have to write a lot of code on my own, so I want to avoid it.

I mean, I need a conjunction of question and reply. It must be one whole thing. I dont' know how to implement it on comment system with Quip

Well I see that to let doctor answer the questions I have to edit Quip Component.
Well, I don't think I can do it without any assistance)

As I see everything else can be easily done:
I can set moderate property to Quip snippet.
So when the doctor answers the question in Quip component (somehow, I don't know how yet),
he then approves this comment and it appears on site.

But here is more problems than with Quip.
With FormIt I have to write snippet that adds questions to database (that's not so hard) and than make a somehow manager for that questions to let doctor moderate them. That's a lot of code to write (I think)

I think with Quip it's more easy to do that. And I also like the idea of moderating this comments with Quip component in Modx manager. The only thing is to edit Quip component (and quip tables in database) to let doctor answer the questions.

So the open question is how and where to edit the code of Quip component.

I'll be trying to read modx docs to figure out.

shouldn't be very difficult to use formit and a hook like formit2db.

To manage the questions,create the answers and publish them you can create a CMP with help of MIGXdb.

With help of MIGX you can also create the needed db-schema for your table, the table itself and all that xpdo-stuff.
Listing the question/answer - pairs should be easy done with migxLoopCollection (included in MIGX)

That could be done and I thought of kind of this solution when I started with FormIt,
but I still can't see any good way to administrate this questions for doctor. That he could
edit all his responses, answer new question, see new questions, delete questions

I would do one of the above tutorials and you will see a bit clearer.
Its possible to sort by latest questions, filter ununswered questions, answer questions, delete questions by a CMP like that.
