It's me again with a question regarding media sources.
I created a new media source covering some folder on my webserver. I assigned this media source to all my image and fiel TVs.
Now, when I edit an existing resource, everything works fine. Ther file chooser lists the content of the folder defined as starting point of my media source.
But when I create a new resource the file chooser lists the files and folders covered by the default media source, that comes with the installation of MODX - listing basically the web root of my project.
I doubt that this is some kind of a policy problem because this behaviour occures for my content editors and admin users as well.
And I just found a solution.
there is a system setting default_media_source that lets you define a default media source to use.
And appearantly this settings happens to be responsible when you create a new resource, obi´viously ignoring the fact, that I assigned explicit media sources to my image and file TVs.
Smells a little bit buggy to me. This behaviour doesn't support using differnet media sources for multiple TVs used by the template of a resource to create. On the other hand, in edit mode, the media source assignments work perfectly.
