I'm working on a 3PC that caches requests to Google Maps API and allows quick lookup of things like latitude, longitude and elevation.
Originally I was storing lat & long as decimal, which is well and fine. But after more research and discussion I'm realizing using the MySQL Spatial Extension to store them together as a Geometry Point is probably the way to go.
Has anyone ever used such an extension with a MODX custom table or ran into any compatibility issues?
