I’ve been searching for and testing various "fixes" to get MODx to run on a server with suPHP, to no avail.

I’ve tried the Securing your site walkthrough, I’ve read the few dozen posts that relate to suPHP, but I can’t seem to get anything out of it.

I’ve been attempting to migrate a site from a development server (without suPHP) to a different dev server (which is the same server it will eventually be deployed on). This didn’t work as smoothly as I thought, and so I tried a couple different methods, and I had trouble with all of them, eventually going for a clean install. The install went fine, with no errors, but once installed, the home page wouldn’t open. I tried the article above, with no results. The interesting thing is that the manager interface seems to work fine, but only the actual website won’t display. I can even upload images via the manager pages.

    Server: Linux, Apache2, PHP 4.3.10, suPHP 0.6.2

    I need some help. huh

Let me give you a little more detail:

index.php actually does parse the page and spew content when executed from the command line. And when the page is requested from the browser, suPHP reports that it’s executed with the correct UID for the user - just nothing comes up.

Any ideas as to what might be happening here? Do you need some more logs? If so, can you be specific as to what you need?

Did you read the bug report I posted and apply the fix to index.php? You likely have an auto_prepend_file directive set in your php configuration (see phpinfo()), which breaks the 0.9.6 front-end by making it think you are including it in another file for use as an API only (i.e. not to handle requests).

Yeah, I tried that patch, and it’s still showing me nothing when I try to run the main page. Again, manager seems fine - even allows me to upload files.
