I seem to have lost an entire weekend of work on a modx site - the database shows no changes in the past 4 days when I definitely have been working on it daily.
Even my nightly backups are not showing the changes I have made. [and they were extensive]
The only thing I think it could have been is database caching? Could inserts and changes I made somehow have been cached and not committed? even so should not they have been committed or cleared as I was working on the site? [saving resources etc]
**EDIT** also, the manager logs AND the backup logs show no changes since the 15th and no changes to the database table files since the 15th either EXCEPT for the session table which has shown changes [and been backed up]
Has anyone had anything like this happen to them before?

Only thing I can come up with is that a backup of the 15th was restored.
I take incremental backups nightly - all the dates on each backup indicates no changes to any of the mysql tables except the session. No one but me has access to the backup tools & if that were the case I should be able to restore last nights backup and all ~should~ be good!
It's the most bizzare thing I've seen in recent memory, it's as if the weekend never happened.

This may be a totally off-the-wall suggestion, but are you sure you were working on the right installation? I ask this, because I've occasionally found myself working with the wrong installation when I had several different "dev" environments going at one time (server admin not being my responsibility, it's a long story...)
I did look at the "am I crazy" angle, - did I change databases? was it in dev?, wrong box syndrome? ... nope all checks out. the only explanation that I can think of was a corrupted table that made the data look old - so I restored from last nights backup [that reported success this morning] and it turns out the backup was not seeing the tables as changed [it does a nightly incremental on a file by file basis]
no other explanation the table went corrupt AND the backup failed ... curiously it failed the night before I made all the changes. ....

well here's something, since it was just the database that went for a sh** the error log is still intact
I'm going through it right now, but if anyone else would like to look - is attached.
