The default sitestart ID is 1, which is Home. However, after I unpublished Home, the first page defaults to the Blog no matter what I do.
If I change the Sitestart ID in Tools > Configuration from 1 to 2, 12, 47 or any other number, the first page after I login should reflect that change, correct?

Where do I find this mysterious Sitestart ID? I thought it was the number in parenthesis by the document name (since Home has (1) after it).

This is correct, the number in parenthesis is the ID. If that document is published, but your change not reflected in the browser, I would empty the browser cache.

Thanks so much. Either MODx has a lag (impossible, right?) or my Firefox Web Developer Extension isn’t working. I also don’t have page caching enabled in the manager, so that’s really odd.

When you make a change that doesn’t show up even after you clear the site cache, it sometimes helps to open the page in another browser that has never visited that page to see for sure if it’s a browser cache issue.

I once had trouble with my (new) ISP’s local caching proxy server configuration, it would not show certain changes to my pages for at least 24 hours. I happened to have a second ISP at that time, my original (more expensive) one, and logging in to their server showed changes immediately, as well as any friends using other ISPs I had check my pages. I never was able to convince the new ISP that THEY were the issue, so I just cancelled that account. Idiots. Or, you get what you pay for... rolleyes
