Hello!
I would like to know if and how can I turn off event logging in a Modx Evo 1.0.5 installation.
Something causes an error to be logged every few seconds, resulting in a very large table in a very short while!
Until I find what causes the error, is there a way of turning off the event logging?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Error logging can be turned off, but it's generally a bad idea.
What is the error?

I know, that's why it will be only temporarilly, until I am able to find what causes the error.
The error has something to do with the database, somewhere, something tries to find a non-existing record:
PHP error debug
Error: mysql_result() [function.mysql-result]: Unable to jump to row 0 on MySQL result index 23
Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
I just cannot find out what (yet..)
It is a quite old project, and this makes things even harder.

Is that from the MODX Error log? It doesn't look like a MODX error at all to me (though it's been a long time since I looked at a MODX Evolution error log).

Sorry, my fault, maybe I wasn't clear in the first place...
It's from the Reports > System Events log.

Sorry, I should have realized that. If it were me, I'd upgrade to 1.0.8. I suspect that it's related to upgrading PHP and the more recent version would take care of that. More important, there are some important security issues that were fixed in recent versions.

That's weird, I would have thought there is an easier way.
Afterall, I have a bunch of other 1.0.5 installations in the same server that do not present this problem. I guess that it has something to do with the code that I have written, rather than the version.
Are you sure that there isn't any easier way, like turning off event logging?

There may be, but I don't know how to do that in Evolution and I don't have an Evo install handy. You may just have a corrupted file in the install. FYI, there are some known security problems with 1.0.5 and upgrading isn't all that difficult.

I know, I have already completed one of the suggested actions (disabled the ForgotManagerLogin plugin)
Thank you for the replies, I'll see what I will do, probably move on with the upgrade.
