URL / Anchors problem after update to 1.0.8

Hi,

my customer met some problem with his modx, so I checked and fixed some stuff but some problem persist after an update to modx evolution 1.0.8 (last version).

Before, we met many errors 500, after connecting to manager for example.

Now, we meet 2 problems, first one is very problematic:

1) When we click on menu, the links should be anchors links and scroll to different sections of the page.
For example, when we click to contact, it should go to domain/#contact and scroll to this section.
But it simply use the friendly URL plugin to write domain/contact but it reload the page and stays on top of it.

How can I make the link going to the sections?
(it worked before to upgrade to 1.0.8).

2) Before, when we logged to manager, we had an error 500, that's why I decided to upgrade to 1.0.8.
Now, just after login, we are redirected to domain/home, that is the website login.
I have to go back to domain/manager to be logged and in the website manager.
How can I make the after login redirection going directly to manager index page?

My suggestion would be to hard code the links in your menu, as there are only 5.

When you ask for help, my suggestion would be to add supporting information such as:

What are you using to call the menu
Are you using wayfinder out of the box or has it been modified
You dont have a "base href" in your source code, yet you are referencing with and without "/"
You are using WordPress as well, so is the homepage the only page created in MODx

first, I d like to say thanks for your time.

After meeting this problem of anchors, I tried many solutions (htacces, try to find another plugin for the menu), try to change menu contents settings (by adding the # in the link), but nothing worked.

So, like you proposed, I thought that hardcode the navigation was the solution.

Problem is that I looked everywhere in the structure and didn't find the file to edit.
I looked for documentation about modx evolution, but nothing about it, even on the forum.

I investigate to find a kind of header or a template file, but nothing, even I explored every file in the /asset folder.

So, to answer to your questions:

Yes, I agree, but like I said, I don't even know which file to edit.

What are you using to call the menu

I'm not sure to understand the question, but in the modx manager, when I edit the ressources, I have an url alias field.
Here it's impossible to use specific character like #, only letters.
What make the link between this data and the menu, I really don't know.
Here my limited competences with modx are clear...

Yes, my customer has 2 blogs, on with wordpress, another one with modx.
there is anyway 2 different domains, rscottdavis.net for modx and rscottdavis.com for wordpress.

About the modx, customer only use one page with anchors for different sections.

I hope my answer will help and we will find a solution, also hope to understand more about modx

The standard place to find your template is:

Log into the manager: YOURDOMAINNAME.net/manager/

When logged in - Click "Elements" (top left navigation tab)

Under the "Elements" tab you will see "Manage Elements" - click it

You should now have the menu tree on the left and a block to the right with heading "Manage Elements"

The first Tab is "Templates" - if you have a template installed it should be found here (in the list)


Wayfinder can be found under the tab "Snippets"

The clue you gave to me already let me find that:

So, I still don't know how to manage anchors, but worst case, I can spend time to documentation to become better with modx, or hardcode my menu to be sure that we can navigate to different sections of the page.
