When I create different User Groups I duplicate one of the default Access Policies so I can customize the Top Menu and restrict access for that particular group as necessary. This works fine.
I recently found and read Bob's tutorial <
http://tinyurl.com/bhjpqmf> on hiding Top Menu items. A very informative read, I learned something new. It's possible I don't fully understand the nuts-n-bolts of it but both methods
seem to accomplish the same thing, with Bob's example being more hands-on than the way I do it. I'm curious to know if one is preferable to the other or are they used to compliment one another?
