cant access manager login page after moving to hybrid server

Im running evo 1.0.7
was going to upgrade after the move from shared hosting to hybrid.

Staying with the same hosting company Heart.
Have many sites on the shared server that work perfectly.

The site and ALL other pages are visible, BUT the manager login page is not.

This is what Ive got server wise:

RAID 1 (1TB with 2-disk mirroring for speed and redundancy)
6 vCPU cores
20GB dedicated RAM
CentOS 6 with cPanel

Any advice welcome, im getting very anxious. Its a big site that gets a lot of traffic.

Can you acces the server error log?
It's probably some file missing. Have you already tried reuploading the manager folder? or ran a comparison on files from before and current?

The hosting company are lookign at it as well.

They have managed to get the manager login to work, which means I can login, but there is a configuration error- which sounds innocent but is actually crticial as it means when I try to edit a page I get lots of "\" added in the code which breaks the links.

This is the configuration error

Configuration warning: 'GD and/or Zip PHP extensions not found'

What does this mean?
modx needs the GD and Zip extension enabled for PHP. While modx will work without them, you will not be able to take full advantage of the built-in File Manager, Image Editor or Captcha for logins.

Further info from the hosting company BTW Heart.

They have installed the zip PHP module, the warning has disappeared but if I try and edit ANYTHING on any page this is what the html looks like.

And cleaning it out, and saving it does not work.
Furthermore everytime I try it adds more "\" or " \" "

Can anyone help?
I am not familiar with virtual servers and I am getting desperate and may switch server back if it cannot be fixed today.

Looks like you have magic_quotes_gpc enabled by default.
Check your PHP settings via the Manager => Reports => System Info => phpInfo() -> view
