I am a new user to MODx. I have been using both postNuke and Mambo in the past. Unfortunately I have an annoying installation issue, that I can’t seem to resolve:

I have downloaded and unpacked, changed permissions on various files, created a new database for modx and created db user and password. During installation when I test the connection to the db it is all green and good to go.

However, the install fails at the final hurdle with the following message:
"Checking table prefix `modx_`: Failed! - Table prefix is already in use in this database!"

This is untrue, when I look at the database in phpMyAdmin it is empty, no tables with any prefix. I tried changing the prefix, using a different database etc, same problem. I tried upgrading rather than installing new and it said it couldn’t upgrade because there were no tables with the "modx_" prefix.

Not a great first impression ... I hope someone can help.

    Thanks,

Thanks OpenGeek: I changed this manually and it all worked.
