However there are no visual problems or anything wrong on the site frontend itself.
Any ideas what to check?

I'm getting this on a production server. Makes for a rather large error file quickly. Would love to know how to stop it.

From reading the error message, it looks like the problem is that it can't figure out what type of image '//initrd.img' is. That's an odd file to try to make a thumbnail from, since it appears to be a disc image, not a raster graphic like a jpeg or png. Is that really what you're intending?

The other forum thread is a problem with the fellow's ImageMagick install not being detected by phpthumb. The error message says that jpg is too big to be processed with GD.

Phpthumbof seems to work - all images are generated properly. But the whole website is loading like a snail I suspect these constant errors are slowing down everything.

'//initrd.img' is a link to boot file - not an image file (as in picture). In line 11 of the debug array, the path is changed to the real file name "boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-5-amd64"

I can't think of any reason phpThumbOf would be trying to make a thumbnail of this file. Check your configuration and any place where phpThumbOf is called dynamically. Make sure you don't have '/root/' where you should have '/home/sparkyweb/www/sparkyeu/root/'
